Zurich’s Best Smashburger, Apparently

Smashburgers aren’t supposed to win awards. They’re supposed to be greasy, loud, fast, and gone in three minutes. But according to GaultMillau’s Züri isst, that’s exactly what happened: we took the top spot in their “Zurich’s Best Smashburger 2025” ranking.

No gimmicks. No reinvention. Just good beef smashed hard on hot steel, onions pressed into the patty, a bun that knows its job, and balance over excess. The kind of burger you don’t photograph — you eat.

The Züri isst team put eight smashburger spots head-to-head. Same rules, same hunger, zero mercy. The result? A 9/10 rating and the nod as Zurich’s best. Not because it’s fancy — but because it’s honest.
