Why “BUNZAI” ?

Hello everyone, Mao here, founder of BUNZAI. I'd like to take a moment to share with you what BUNZAI truly means to me, and the story that shapes our every bite.

To me, BUNZAI isn't just a name; it's a symbol of passion, longevity, and a dream that has traveled across continents and cultures, to culminate in a place where the taste of a delicious burger intertwines with artistic inspiration.

The name 'BUNZAI' is derived from 'Banzai', a term that signifies "ten thousand years" in Japanese and Chinese, a wish for a long life filled with good fortune. It's this essence that infuses each burger we serve at BUNZAI. But the connection to Banzai goes even deeper, linking back to my childhood and a particular manga magazine that was close to my heart.

‘Banzai' was the title of a popular manga magazine that I used to read as a kid. As a young boy, I dreamed of becoming a manga artist, captivated by the unique aesthetics that defined this form of art.

My love for manga wasn't my only dream. I also harbored a deep-seated desire to design products. Fast forward to today, and you can see that dream manifesting in every detail of BUNZAI, from our branding and decor to the presentation of our burgers. Every aspect is thoughtfully crafted, inspired by the aesthetics of our many inspirations, and guided by our commitment to quality that underpins everything we do.

In essence, BUNZAI is my love letter to burgers, manga, and design. It's a tribute to a dream that has been realized, a dream that combines my passions into a unique culinary experience.
